On Monday, October 3, the Miracle Network Dance Marathon movement celebrated Child Health Day, a day intended to reaffirm our commitment to the health and well-being of the children who are our next generation.

A number of programs set up awareness campaigns on their campus to talk to students about Child Health Day and the impact their Miracle Network Dance Marathon has on their local children’s hospital.

Members of RebelTHON at the University of Mississippi danced for 10 hours straight in front of their student union to raise awareness for the fact that 1 in 10 children in North America will be treated at a Children’s Miracle Network Hospital.
HootaThon at Temple University created a video using M&M’s to represent the numbers of children treated at their local hospital.

Students from KU Dance Marathon at the University of Kansas took advantage of Child Health Day as an opportunity to meet with their university’s Provost to talk about the work their doing for their local hospital.

Pornchai Chantha, Executive Director of MU Miracle at Mercer University, said that if he raised $1,500 on Child Health Day, he would shave his head bald. Thanks to donations from friends, family, and students on campus, he was able to raise $1,825 and live streamed the moment he had his head shaved!
